Interacting Effects of Nitrogen Addition and Mowing on Plant Diversity and Biomass of a Typical Grassland in Inner Mongolia

چکیده

It is unclear how N addition and mowing interactively affect grassland community structure function. We studied the short-term effects of on species diversity biomass a typical in Inner Mongolia using split-plot design, with whole plot representing treatment subplot rate. Three stubble heights were set at 10 cm (M2), 6 (M3) 3 (M4), no-mowing (M1) was also included. consisted five rates, i.e., 0 (N1), 2 (N2), 5 (N3), (N4) 20 (N5) g m2.yr−1. Mowing significantly increased diversity. height (M2) both biomass. Heavy (3 height, M4) weakened difference C. squarrosa caused by addition. Species richness decreased, while Leymus chinensis increasing alleviated negative richness, this effect influenced height. Community L. tended to be stable when greater than The saturation threshold much lower that negatively correlated Gini coefficient litter production, which indicated light competition accumulation important factors affecting decrease our study.

Effects of Nitrogen Fertilization on Soil Microbial Biomass and Community Functional Diversity in Temperate Grassland in Inner Mongolia, China

Nitrogen (N) fertilization may profoundly affect soil microbial communities. In this study, a field fertilization experiment was conducted in temperate grassland in Inner Mongolia, China to examine the effect of N fertilization on soil microbial properties and the main factors related to the characteristics of soil microbial community. Soil microbial biomass carbon (MBC) and microbial functiona...

on translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...

Hierarchical Plant Responses and Diversity Loss after Nitrogen Addition: Testing Three Functionally-Based Hypotheses in the Inner Mongolia Grassland

BACKGROUND Numerous studies have shown that nitrogen (N) deposition decreases biodiversity in terrestrial ecosystems. To explain the N-induced species loss, three functionally based hypotheses have been proposed: the aboveground competition hypothesis, the belowground competition hypothesis, and the total competition hypothesis. However, none of them is supported sufficiently by field experimen...
